Initially launched to help local businesses in Hong Kong produce documents in excellent English, Language Line has evolved into a renowned editorial and translation company that serves an international clientele.

Founders

Language Line was co-founded by Julia Courtenay-Tanner, a language, drama and social etiquette expert, and by Richard Tanner, a retired company and commercial lawyer. Julia, who continues in her role as Managing Director of Language Line and its sister company, Venture Language Training, was educated at the Sorbonne, Paris and at Barcelona University. As a published writer and a creator of English language, drama and teacher training materials, Julia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Language Line.

Philosophy

The philosophy at Language Line is to provide a range of language services that enable corporations and individuals to focus on their principal skills, by relieving them of the pressures that arise from creating, translating or perfecting documentation.
